More On Hypergamic Affirmative Action

In my last post, I completely neglected to mention this very important point.  But first, here’s the relevant excerpt from Slumlord:

Now, I have quite a lot of respect for Vox but I think he is totally wrong on this one. Hypergamy simply can't be socially engineered away, and the approach taken by the Ayatollahs and advocated by many in the manosphere i.e handicapping women in order to make second rate men look better is simply an affirmative action program for beta males.

Now, as far as affirmative action goes, there are really only three possibilities:  a) the policies in place effectively work as affirmative action for beta males/beta behaviors, b) the policies in place effectively work as affirmative action for women’s hypergamous behaviors/sluthood, or c) the policies in place do not work as affirmative action for anyone or any behaviors.  Basically, the options are a) give systemic advantages to men, b) give systemic advantages to women, or c) give systemic advantages to no one.  Since has never been tried, and likely never will, the more realistic question is:  should social policy favor men or women, insofar as it favors anyone?

I guess the better way to restate that question is:  should social policy favor working plumbing or grass huts?  And on this matter, I favor working plumbing, and am therefore inclined to agree with Vox (at least in principle if not policy specifics).
